hemp care guide
How to wash Hemp garments? It's very simple.
hemp
Any of our hemp garments whose label composition is over 80% hemp can be safely machine washed at 30°C (cold water). Hemp is antibacterial, so aggressive washing is not necessary. We recommend using mild detergents and a small amount of fabric softener. Tumble drying is not essential, but it helps keep hemp soft if done at a low spin. If the hemp feels stiff after washing, increase the amount of fabric softener or the drying time. Only during the first washes—this is rare but still possible and completely natural—hemp may form some pilling, which can be removed very easily.
hemp & wool
Garments made of hemp and wool (our Lanapa® and Cashemp materials) should be washed as delicate wool items. If you have a modern washing machine, it usually features a delicate wool program at 30°C, which allows you to safely wash our garments as well. Use a detergent specifically designed for wool. Tumble drying at a low spin is recommended. If you do not have a wool program, we suggest hand washing or taking the garment to a professional laundry.
